For a number of years we have supplied fig trees to the landscaping department at Colonial Williamsburg. The figs they generally requested were Celeste, which is the most common fig in the historical grounds. The hort department at Wmsbrg is very strict about replanting with appropriate, historicaly accurate varieties whenever possible. There are a few scattered gold/green figs around the grounds, but no positive ID on those. Some are undoubtably Italian Golden (Lattarula), a favorite of Thomas Jefferson. If in question, I'd email the horticulture department there, they are helpful and very knowledgeable! - Sybil
