Leave them inside. It's too early for them to be out and they'll freeze their little tushies off! I've started some indoors too - i just don't seem to get the earlier bloom by winter sowing them.

We have had two days of heavy rain. I checked my winter sowing; which i am trying for the first time, and discovered that they are overly wet. I dont know if I made my vents too large or are my drainage cuts too small. How do I dry my soil out to a reasonable condition. Should I bring them inside and expose them to the heat, cut more drainage holes. My sowings are planted in 2L softdrink bottles and 2L juice containers. I left the stoppers on, and slit holes around the top sides of the bottles with a knife. I made twisting motions with my knife to be sure that there is actually an opening, rather than a cut that looks closed up. Advice would be appreciated..would not want to loose my Christmas gifts.

Rick, try raising them off the ground so that they'll drain better. Maybe you can put the containers back against the house under the eaves where the rain won't hit them. They should be okay unless they were swimming in water (happened to mine my first year when i left them under the drip line of the eaves!).
