How long does it take to grow spinach? Is it too late now? I'm pretty sure we're going to continue having a cool spring.

I'd actually like to plant arugula, spinach, and lettuce right now. How long does it take until harvest? My packages don't say.

Any idea if they'll grow at the same rate so that we could have a mixed salad?

Plant some mesclun mix - has all that stuff in it and you can harvest them small in about a month or so. We used to grow spinach but for some reason now it always bolts on me.

They'll grow at approximately the same rate - usually with salad greens I'll just take a few leaves here and there so they don't have to be harvested all at once.

My lettuces are only just putting out their second set of true leaves now so I don't think you're too late. It's been such a slow spring.

Oh good. I think I'll plant a bit of each thing in a couple of food grade pails, and hopefully we can just cut off a whole salad at once =:) I'm not too keen on planting edibles right in the ground where I know voles have been.

I'd get a mesclun mix, but already have seeds for all kinds of stuff that I haven't planted yet =:( Maybe I'll try that next year.
