Yes,...very normal, right now I have Ivanovka blooming, all Euro are just pushing.

Konrad my Italians did not do as good as last year. Lots of new growth dieback.

Is this common with your euro plums also. Ill keep updated if they bloom this year last year I got few fruits actually got a seedling 6" tall out of one of the seeds I'm pretty excited about :)
But yeah for most part I'm pushing it with these trees. They grow lots but lots dies back

Yes you did.
Isnt mt royal is just a seed from an Italian type plum. Mt royal died back too at my place .We had horrible winter. Warm and very cold off and on.

The Italian is the best most vigorous fruiting tree I've ever had. I was hoping to get a few hardier euro type plums I could graft but did not receive any :(
Was hoping the vigorous tree could really push some hardier varieties fast into fruiting.

The shiro plum did not survive Konrad :(
The stock was dead also. Which leads me to believe the tree did not get a hardy set of roots. I bought it from a nursery in osoyoos which brings trees from the states.
