I have alot of butterfly plants. The tropicals are mostly gingers and heliconias. I kill succulants, sorry. Anything else you want to try?

I forgot the bromeliads and assorted Ti plants.

Do you have small growing bromilliads? I have large Billbergia brasiliensis, Billbergia B. pyramidalis, Aechmea fasiata.
what kind of gingers and heliconias? I have shell ginger, peacock ginger, calcuma pink, lobster claw heliconia and orange heliconia. Do you have musical note plant?

I took the pics. Now I have to wait for my teen to get home from school to show me how to post them.
I have guzmania in yellow, red or dk purple.
I have Neo's. One is green with a red center. One is verigated green and white.
The gingers include butterfly ginger in white, peach, or orange. I have orange costus that stays about 2-3ft.
I don't have musical notes but do have bleeding heart

Hi Tony,
It's shell ginger, very invasive one at that. The roots are tangled mess but smells nice when you touch them. I have so much of these gingers.

Thanks Jan for the ID and the growing habits.

Maybe I will plant them in the ground with a bottomless bucket around them to 'try' and keep them contained.

Guess I will toss and turn all night AGAIN now knowing I have yet another potential out of control plant in my lineup.
