I'm interested to know if those pesky DEER bother the Carmine Jewel as much as they have decimated my Nanking and Hansen's bush cherries. I made chicken wire cylinders to put around my 1st year babies, but the deer managed to nudge them aside and really did some damage. They rebounded in the 2nd year, but then this past winter, got chomped to bits again. However these little bushes just keep sending up more new growth!! Amazing!! But I wonder if I'd be better off spending $29.95 for 3 or 4 of the CArmineJewels, which I would assume are a lot larger to begin with (than the Nanking/Hansen's, which are like large twigs in the beginning). Anybody care to comment? Thanks for your help. Central Minnesota zone 3b I guess.
