I believe not,...think beegood has a hardy mac and was ripe for the fruit show, ..all you need to consider is the maggot flies, most apples get it, also this one. It is said that some apples are not terribly infected, for instant, my Norkent in Beaumont has some Maggots, but the Collet doesn't,..but then we're just in the beginning of this maggot infestation.

Yes I have a Hardi mac and its doing well No die back and at I've had _ 38 to_ 40 at my house. Fruit is really nice and keeps well.

Thanks for the responses, I have yet to pick up any tree, I think I'll shop around a bit first, I'm also considering 'Collet' ... any suggestions are welcome! I prefer apples that are tart / sweet, favorable and crisp, that's why I love Mac's !

It's really hard to choose the right apple. I must say that the hardy mac tasted good.

You might need to wait for the next fruit show,..for many years now, when I'm done tasting this many,..I still don't know if I tasted a WOW apple out of this many,..for me, Norkent is still #1

The Carrol apple is nice off the tree, crisp juicy tangy and sweet but doesn't last, Norland would be similar. It seems, not many late apples are sweet, the Norkent I find one of the sweetest.
