Last summer, I bought two Goldflame Honeysuckle at a nursery in Regina...they guarantee all their plant material, and when I got back home, I looked on the internet for more info on it and found out it was a zone 5! (some say even zone 6+ and the lowest I have seen it listed was zone 4)
It is super fragrant, gorgeous and I kinda thought "well...enjoy it this summer" and will dig up the dead vines next summer and return for a refund when I go visit my sister.
I'm super excited to see it leafing out and so far, so good!
I thought I would wait abit longer before pruning back to where the last bud opens.
I looked up Mandarin, and it shows zone 3b...can't see why it wouldn't be hardy for you?

I'm too chicken, LOL, I went back and bought Dropmore ;)

I have Dropmore. It is pretty hardy. I'll have to check with a lady in Humboldt to see if she planted Mandarin. She was talking about it last year.

Oh I would of NEVER bought this if I knew how high a zone it was!! But the smell is absolutely heavenly, and the day after I planted it & busy watering, the hummers were literally brushing against me to get to the flowers. From what I've read, it blooms on new growth, so this will be good. The foliage is a really pretty blue green....will update later on this year on how well it is doing though.
