How much does it typically cost to get property surveyed. Only need to know the exact property lines for replacing a fence (not more and not registered).

I'm in the process of replacing our existing fence that is in bad condition. The fence contractor asked if I was sure the existing fence was on the property line. As I'm not 100% sure because I purchased the house only 18 months ago should I even get the property surveyed?
