Container Fig Trees Wilting After Rain

Hello to the group,

I have a question about a problem I am having with my potted fig trees lately.

I am noticing my celeste tree wilting after a day of rain and the other 2 white fig trees look as if the leaves are curling inward.

What bothers me about this is that these trees have been in containers since they were propagated in 1999 and I never had this problem no matter how much it rained.

I root prune and repot every 2 years. My soil is and has been what was recommended to me by Chris at Belleclare many years ago: Ultralite top soil from Long Island Compost.

My guess is that the rain coupled with the cool temps only in the low 50's is causing this to happen?

If it is that the soil I am using is unsuitable what can I do at this point in time to correct? The trees are already leaved out so repotting I doubt is an option.

Can someone offer suggestions on how to get my soil to drain better with out repotting/stressing the trees?

Thanks in advance,

Joe
