Let us know other conditions it's exposed to - a lot of rain or water (are its roots being kept very wet?), any toxic chemicals (someone spraying herbicides in the vicinity to kill weeds, maybe some got onto the fig)? - did you fertilize it with anything? It could be as dumb as a neighbor's pet coming and making anointments on it, and zapping it that way, but it sounds like it got hit by something toxic if it's fading that fast. Insect damage is one thing, but leaves turning brown across the plant sounds like another problem :o( .

Thanks for posting, we were in a heat wave, up until today. It has cooled down about 15 degrees overnight. Thank goodness. I have kept it wet, maybe it was the heat. We will check it again, after a few days of cool wheather.
