Anyone grow Prairie Splendor or Unity Maple?

I'm looking for 2 new shade trees for my farm yard, and I'm eyeing both of these maples. Prairie Splendor is a supposedly 3a hardy norway maple with gorgeous purple-red leaves. Unity is the most hardy selection so far for sugar maples.

Both of them will probably be kind of borderline, so I'm not sure if I should both planting them. Does anyone in zone 2b-3a grow this? Have you wintered it more than one year?

PS definitely seems to be hardy here. If I can grow it in my high altitude, super windy Calgary backyard then I'm sure you can too.

That is good to know about PS. I had heard that it might not tolerate wind very well, and I will try to put it in the most sheltered spot that I have, but I live on a farm and it seems fairly windy everywhere, all the time. *sigh* I wish I could find a smaller whip somewhere, rather than having to drive home with the enormously tall specimens they have an hour drive from home. I'll wait until next spring I think, before they are leafed out, to ensure that I don't tatter all the leaves. I hate waiting, LOL.

So with all this confusion over different trees all being labeled as Prairie Splendor...is there some sure way to know you have got the right one?
