I've seen alstromeria in flower bouquets at the stores. I didn't realize we could grow them. Shows how much I know =:)

Those are lovely plants. It's a great time of the year to pick up a few extras, as many of the greenhouses and (especially) hardware stores are having sales. It also seems to be much easier to spot the oddities and rarities, as they invariably seem to be left behind by shoppers unsure of what to do with them. I picked up a trio of Chocolate Cosmos this afternoon for a dollar each at the local Home Hardware -- I can't believe they would have stocked these!
