Where do you live? Were the cuttings inside, or outside? There's got to be an answer for you from someone, but we will need more details.

How did you root them?

Are they in the full sun?

Did your cuttings from last year die?

Are they possibly too dry, or too wet?

Hi Noss,
I live in central Arkansas, (Little Rock) cutting, rooted inside new bad method. Placed in 32 ounce clear painters cups with drilled holes.All in shade in full shade. Cutting from last year all died, 1 survived all year with one leaf, but died over winter. I see some moister in the cups, but maybe I could give a little more water.
I'sure someone has the right answer.

It is probably moisture related, either too much, not enough or both. Can you post photos of your setup? Do you use a humidity bin? When you say, new bag method, does that mean you use the small bags, then when you see a lot of root growth, you transfer to the cups? Have you seen any small flies hovering around (fungus gnats)? I have had a problem with them this year, though I've only lost maybe 10% of my cuttings.

Are the roots healthy looking, or brown and mushy? Is the top of the cutting dried out? Soft to the point you can easily bend it? Or healthy looking?

Did you keep them in the clear cups the whole time? Were they in the wind a lot?

If you put them in something after they were in the cups, what was it?

If they were kept in the clear cups, that's not good because the roots need to be in the dark, as though they were in the ground.
