Replanting my fig tree!

I just replanted my fig tree and hope It's not going to kill it? I know it May the 22nd of 2014, and that in the fall or early February, but I needed to move it because it was planted in a shady area. I got most of the roots and the plant and roots are about the same size. I dug a hole to about 2, 1/2' and filled it with Black Cow & Mushroom compost. What are my chances?

Your fig will survive- figs survive very easily. Make sure you water it well and good luck!

It will do fine. Just remember to water it more often because it's root system is smaller now.

I dug out a small "dead" stump of a fig that the winter killed, or so I thought. I pitched it in a shallow hole outside the fence. That "dead" fig now has 3 shoots coming out! If you got a 2ft diameter root ball, you are good to go.
