I haven't got 'Prairie Sunset' yet, but it's on my wish list. I have to clean out the quack grass, first, and take out all the extra species Heliopsis, to make room for it.

Sharon, since it's such a new hybrid, I would worry, a little, about its hardiness. The seeds won't come true, from what I've read, so make sure you deadhead the plant. I hope your stem cuttings root for you. If not, you can also try taking basal cuttings.

Do you have H. Lorraine Sunshine? That's a nice one, too. I have it in the wrong part of the garden (too shady), so it hasn't been thriving. I'll be moving it this year. I've seen it in other gardens, and it's gorgeous!

I had quite enjoyed this one in my garden last summer! Though, unfortunately this spring it had not come back! I had meant to give it some winter protection, but with all the things that I do cover, this one had slipped my mind.

BUT, I would attempt it again as it's really rather unique!

Doris, 'Lorraine' is old news girlfriend.... you gotta keep up with the times. LOL, Yes, I have this one and she is sure a beauty!

All my new perennials get winter straw protection in its first year, but I'll make sure I'll plant this one more closer to the house for extra protection.

Also if it does not make the winter, I have the Holes guarantee... 100% credit in the first growing season,
50% credit in the second growing season.

There is another new one called 'Summer Nights' this one is pretty well the same as P/S, but this one has a mahogany eye.

Just checked out prairie sunset and summer nights and they both look like winners. I grow Lorraine as well which I love and the regular summer sun which is a great long bloomer.
