Didn't I read somewhere that daylily buds are edible and are quite the delicacy? Maybe I use that excuse to add daylilies to the grocery budget???? What do ya think? It could work!!

Yes, Gil, I've been to that wonderful website, I was directed to it last week when Jan from the DL forum gave me the link to look up Elegant Candy. It's a great database and I have it in my favourites file!

I look at it this way, if I keep buying more DLÂs, I won't have money left to buy groceries. No Food = Weight Loss ;)

Wonder what daylilies really taste like. Anyone ever try them? I know that the deer really like them.

I remember last year on the daylily forum, it was fairly normal for people to post a pic, give an opinion on the daylily, and say how it tastes. Apparently some taste better than others. I believe all parts of the plant are edible but of course you would probably only eat the roots of the invasive ones.

Oh, and this is not just shameless enabling, at least Tinker's does not actually sell daylilies. It's more of a resource.

Thanks! She surprised me with Antique Rose, Ed Murray, Custard Candy, Trahlyta, and Wedding Band. On top of that I bought El Desperado and Barbara Mitchell from Hole's before she came to visit. I have to look for space now besides I have ordered some irises from Vesey which will be arriving very shortly as well.
