How big are the plants? Maybe they just need to be divided. I try to divide mine every 4 or 5 years depending on how fast they grow. Usually when they start having fewer blooms, it's time to divide them. Marg

Thanks Marg! It has been about 5 years for the one patch for sure and about 3 for the other one. Would it be too late to divide them now?

I believe now is the time to divide them.
This is the time of the year that they are sold through the mail.

I will be dividing mine now. I've read that late summer/early fall is a good time to divide them . I'll also be planting about 8 new ones after that. Irises are one of my favorite flowers. Marg

Yes divide your iris now. You will get a few blooms next year and then the following year you should get a good show again. You need to divide your iris quite often. Some grow and produce babies very quickly...if you have these fast growers you will have to divide every 2 or 3 years. If you have some of the slower growing ones....then every 4 or 5 years.

I just got my iris order yesterday and planted it last night. This is the time of year to get this done so they have time to settle in, before winter.
