Now you know where they like to build it, as soon as you can
find a little gulf ball size nest, which a single queen wasp starts building,.. knock it off. Or you try the artificial nest I have seen at Candian Tire, hang one of these up.

I've heard that the fake nests work well. I've had far more than enough wasp problems than I care to discuss.

Ditto the fake wasp nest. They don't do anything for yellow jackets unfortunately, which stung the crap out of me last year. :0(

My hubby went out with the pressure washer and washed them away----for a while. It didn't take long for them to come back. Meanwhile I did some research on the web and found a thread on another forum about this very subject. They were saying that once you get rid of the nest, you can spray with bleach, apparently they don't like the smell of it. You may have to do it several times. I have already done it once and they did not stick around when I tossed it on the table. I just checked and there's just one flying around out there. Think I'll get him with the swatter. He definitely won't be back then! I'll pour some more bleach out there just in case. Marg

Last year was hot and dry here and the wasps were terrible. I was moving some hay bales in the hayshed and ended up with a swarm of angry wasps in my face. I got several stings on my face and as I was high tailing it out of there they stung me on the back of the leg.this year being so wet and cool I didnt even imagine there were wasps in the hay bales again. A couple days ago I was moving a bale of hay and disturbed a nest again. I got 2 stings above my right eye.Maybe I am a slow learner..lol. I wonder if it is possible to use the fake wasps nest out there...Jean
