I don't have one, either, Evelyn. My ad blocker seems to keep them away most of the time. Sorry...can't help you!

I see the ad pop once in a while. I use firefox. Might be time to see what can be done to prevent them. Its a shame we have to block ads.

Evelyn, if you use FF, you can download the add-on called FlashBlock.

The reason you are seeing that ad is because it is a FLASH file opening.

Yep, I'm getting it too and you're right it's a real PITA. Just got a new Microsoft program that will - hopefully - stop that thing in it's tracks.

I just got so fed up with the ad that I clicked on it. Then I got to the contact us portion for that company and I told them that I would never, ever buy their products due to their annoying pop up ad campaign. Their name has been implanted in brain in a bad way.

The good news is that Firefox with the added Flashblock does work! Thanks for the tip.

I got it too and it is annoying as all get out. Don't they get what a negitive impact it has on all of us. Hmmm, foxfire you say.

Thanks Tony, yes Firefox with the ad-on does work. but is there a way to customize this ad-on? I do like to watch flash on other websites :-/

ACK! now I cannot click on the top menu bar anymore to go to the forum menu page, since the blocked ad is in the way. Clicking will open that Ad. Help?

When I am on the first page , there is a clicking sound and the whole page "jumps" . it does this over and over.

Once I am able to click on the thread it stops.

weird !

D'Ann, at the top of the add it shows a place to colapse the ad, click on that and it stops jumping till the next time it shows up.

thats interesting you say that you cant goto the top anymore because the ad is in the way. On mine, I see the outline where the ad used to be but its transparent and it blocks nothing. I will look for options, however, I dont think there are any.

right click the letter F which represents the Flash video that was to be played. It has a drop down menu list that allows you to customize the blocker to some degree.

To remove the ad which is blocking what you see, select REMOVE THIS FLASH and it should be gone, for the moment anyways.

I am sure we can overcome this PITA.

Thank you all for your support and help. I am prepare for war on the annoying adds. One thing is to place the adds another thing is annoying adds. I boycott the product when they get me this MAD.
I no longer get the pop ups.

I know, I've seen alot of decline in postings since the intrusive ads arrived a few years ago. Daves Garden seems to have picked up the refugees. I did have to pay to be a member but it is a much more active forum and I rarely visit here anymore. Not pimping for them but thought I would share...

GW Bamboo forum was once very active.I was there allot.

I miss the group and now is very inactive. Questions are not answered as they once were. I hope the adds do not kill this forum which I believe is the best.

I really do understand the ads, and don`t really mind.

but they should be off to the side and easy to read.

these moving , jumping ones are aggravating

GW must have pulled the ad, thanks God, since I don't see it this morning. Maybe our complaints weren't unnoticed.

*sigh-of-relief* yes, I did contact GW about the Ad and I hope many more did.
I normally have this forum open all day long, just minimize it for work, but all of yesterday GW wasn't an option for me, I surfed other sites in my free time.

PS, yes, Dave's Garden seems very active with many familar names, and I would not mind paying, but there are still Ads on the pages, correct?
