Yes there certainly are. I purposely plant things that are poisonous to humans and the rabbits seem to leave them alone too. Unfortuately this drove them into my vegetable garden - sigh. Things I never see them eat include foxgloves, lupines, columbine, poppies, iris, lily-of-the-valley, delphiniums, pulmonaria, and daylilies (I know these aren't poisonous but it seems they aren't tasty to bunnies either). I'm sure there are many many more perennials that rabbits won't eat but these are ones I have.

What finally made the rabbits leave my yard alone was when I fully fenced the yard and my dog goes in and out of the house. Seems the rabbits can get in the backyard still but if they can't rely on multiple escape routes they will stay away. I can honestly say I have not had a nibble of rabbit damage this year, and in previous years it was severe.

Rabbits are really not a problem here, its those darn gophers, mice and big birds. What works for me is bulk Cajun pepper, much cheaper than buying it in a bottle. Sprinkle on the plant and around the plant, especially when the plant is at the seedling stage (seedlings are much tastier and juicier than older plants and easy to reach). Make sure you reapply after a heavy rain.

Or you might want to try a motion activated water sprayer.

Kate, good luck with the cayenne pepper. It worked for stopping my cats from cra--ing at the bottom of the carpeted stairs to the basement.
You might want to try some of the spice stores on 34 Avenue. They would probably have, in bulk, a few spices that would work - cayenne, turmeric, curry, black pepper (stronger than table black pepper), possibly some type of hot chili pepper, etc. Let us know what works.

Cayenne Pepper is one of the main spices used in Cajun cooking, doah!!! Anyway, same thing, I'm sure you got my drift ;)

Red is a lot heavier than he was when we got him from the pound. He was pretty skinny then, and lots of energy. He still runs it off. Wish i could do that too! LOL The last female that we had was heavier. She liked to eat and con treats out of everyone who walked into the kitchen!

Red is beautiful Marcia! We have a year-old cockapoo named Copper. Will post pics when I finally figure out how to get pics up on here and thanks to those of you who responded to my other thread about that. I will get it figured out in the next day or so. I'd love to sic Copper on the rabbits but knowing him he'd just keep on going and going - hey I thought that was supposed to be the bunnies!
