Melanzana Figs?

I have a fig tree that was dug from a very old tree and then transplanted in my backyard. It is well established, having been here and producing for about 10 years. I grew up with a small variety of fig that we used to make fig preserves. This fig is huge. The fig itself is about 4" long and about 2" or more wide. It ripens to a lush green with hints of deep purple. The meat has a hint of pink. The tree has smooth bark. At the end of the branches is a cluster of 4-5 large five-lobed leaves and in the midst of the leaves is the fruit. There are usually 2-4 figs together. I have around 75 immature figs on the tree this year, my best crop yet, but, I only get three or four ripe figs at a time. Is that normal? I would like to be able to make preserves again.

We have clay in our area, so when planting, the hole was prepared with good soil and natural compost. It gets about 4 hours of direct sun a day when the sun is directly overhead. Can you help me identify and/or care for the tree properly? Thanks!
