tips for freezing and cooking peas

Anyone else doing peas already besides me?

A friend of mine told me about an easier way to freeze peas that requires no blanching before freezing. Just shell and put into a bag, raw, and place in the freezer. I usually only wash them if they are dirty otherwise I just shell and bag them. The peas actually taste fresher when cooked later than if you blanch them. I have been doing so for about 18 years now. So much easier.

Another tip...if the peas are larger and maybe a little older, add a little sugar to the water when cooking them and it will sweeten them up.
