I've just started growing this variety, and the first figs I've eaten have been outstanding.

Are all the honey figs related or is it just a description of the level of sweetness these figs have?

I only know of one Italian Honey fig, although this variety is sometimes sold as Italian Golden Honey. I would think, if other figs have the name "honey", they would be separate varieties.

my Italian honey fig tree is my most productive this year. it bears early and keeps on bearing. I find that it tends to get a little busy and I have to pluck out the suckers often from the ground. I keep mine pruned to about six feet because i'm not into climbing latters to retrieve figs. even at that height it produces loads of figs. i'm in Louisiana and it loves hot humid weather.
