I am no fig guru but I never do much of anything to get my figs to ripen. They do it all on their own. I think heat triggers it. Mine never ripen until it starts getting hot. Which of course in Florida is no problem. Zone 6 maybe a bit more difficult do to the milder temps in early summer.

I was wondering if removing leaves that shade the fruit would help to get the figs ripe? I'm trying to get more ripe figs next year. I think in Florida, you don't have to worry about ripe figs. New Jersey is a different story though. Thanks
