More Painted Lady Caterpillars

I've been reading the previous posts about caterpillars, and particularly the ones regarding the painted lady caterpillars.

Someone from not far from here had asked me a couple of weeks ago if I had noticed any caterpillars, and at that point I hadn't. Well, I sure do notice them now! They have really taken over and infested several of my plants, in particular, my globe thistles and silybum, a thistle too, of course. And those plants were doing so wonderfully this year too, expecially the silybum. Huge foliage. Not anymore! I've cut down most of them, and now I'm thinking the caterpillars will move to the hollyhocks in that area. However, since these caterpillars are the Painted Ladies, I will have to hold back now and let them be. I haven't sprayed anything on them, the only spraying I've done is some "Safers" on a few mildewed plants of other varieties.

Has anyone else noticed more of these little visitors?

Faith
