I saw the picture earlier, but can't see it now either. The leaves on the larger specimen look sorrel-like but sorrels (Rumex sp.) don't run like that - they have taproots.

O.K., admittedly I am terrible at this but my SWAG is Convolvulus arvensis. AKA Creeping Jenny, field bindwind and a whole bunch of other common names.

Northspruce, I see what you mean - your link is for Rumex acetosella, sheep sorrel, while my info doesn't mention that particular species. (It describes other species that don't have running roots (R. triangulivalvis, crispus); culinary sorrel doesn't run either.)

Oops, I'm compounding error upon error today, LOL! Sorry! Strangely enough, I guess I was distracted by the disappearance of the photo, and didn't even notice the sorrel link until this morning.
So, anyway, Marcia had it, I think (unless anyone else cares to discuss further - I admit I'm prone to snap decisions that are frequently wrong, LOL!)

It's definitely red sorrel (also called sheep sorrel) Rumex acetosella. Thanks everybody! I see it thrives in acid soil, no wonder I have so much of it!

I feel like taking a bow! :) LOL My mother pointed this plant out when we were kids and had us taste the leaves. I used to graze on it whenever i found some, but haven't seen any in quite awhile.
