I harvested my bed for the first time this year and was so happy to be eating home-grown asparagus again. There is absolutely no comparison to the store bought stuff.

The biggest job is in the preparation of the bed before you plant it and you will have many, many good years of production. I used the link below when I planted mine three summers ago (at least one with very similar info and pictures). Just forward the dates a bit from January to March or whenever your ground can be worked.
