Celeste Project

Two years ago, I started collecting Celeste twigs and trees from as many places and people as I could find. I have about 5 that have fruited, and several more that may ripen fruit this season. There is a possibility that I can get these all genetically tested at USDA/UC Davis as well.

So, if I do not have a Celeste from you, as of yet, and you are willing to share when they are dormant after this season, pease contact me at "figs4fun at cox.net" I am certainly willing to cover your costs.

Also, I expect to have more data to share with you a little later in this season, as more things ripen. The results, so far are interesting, seemingly falling into at least four categories: the tear drop shaped Celestial, the more roundish Celeste, the Blue Celeste, and the odd fig out, Golden Celeste. I have one unknown that looks a lot like Celestial, but at least this first season seems to have a somewhat different flavor.
