Swap plans

Dear FloraBuds,

I thought I would share about one of the things I will be bringing to any swaps I can get to.

They are epiphytic cactus.

I have several colors, but only know for sure which plants are a lovely medium pink, a violent magenta-purple and two different whites. The rest of the eight have not bloomed, yet. This should be the year. They are VERY pot bound and have been fed well.

Mine dropped several leaves [canes?] when I moved them for the freeze and they will also drop parts from heavy wind or rain.

They like very bright light such as full morning sun. They will get burned spots from full mid day Florida sun. Also, when we have the daily storms (if we are lucky enough to get them this year) they should be protected from the drenching rains. They do prefer it rather dry.

When they get very wet, they will rot along the canes leaving only a cord like mid rib. Usually below that cord is more of the green fleshy plant part. The great thing about that is that the rest of the cane that hangs off this cord can be chopped up in pieces to make a new pot of plants.

I don't think I will have many Old Garden Roses rooted up for any swaps held in the spring, but should have many for the fall.
