Wow, beautiful mass planting and excellent photos! I'm always really awestruck by big, gorgeous beds of one or a small number of plants. (However, by contrast,in my own yard I'm firmly committed to the "plant zoo" concept, LOL!)

They are amazing this year. On Saturday we were out walking in the alfalfa field and there were clouds of them - what a sight!

Ohhhh very nice! I have seen a few of them around here....but not that many at once...and certainly never clouds of them.

Pudge, your garden always seems to AMAZE me! How many plants of Verbena bonariensis did you plant there, very stunning, mine are so sparse looking now compared to yours LOL.

The area is about 25' long (the pic shows only about half of it) and only about 3-5' wide, and the past few years I've been doing a mass planting of some annual or another (often sunflowers, one year amaranthus). It will eventually become a grass bed, once I rid the area of the quack grass that plagues it. This verbena really works best (I think) mass planted and I think there's about 125 plants in there.

My little granddaughters would have loved to be there to see so many butterflies...savona
