Years ago, I tried starting it in the house and it was soft and leggy...so other than that I haven't tried it in the house.

I was thinking of trying that this winter too. I always start some transplant for early planting in the spring, but never let them get that big. I was thinking of doing it in a flat and just scattering a mix of seeds and putting them under the grow lights. Cheryl

I was thinking of trying the same thing. I have a setup already. If it works even half as well as the marigolds I did this spring, I'll be more than happy. A few seeds and the power aren't worth much if I end up with fresh lettuce any time we want it =:)

I tried it on the Aero Garden and was not impressed. It did grow but was soft and leggy.

I tried growing it in a flat last year, it didn't work out well. I think it is to dry and the plants need more humidity than they get in a dry house. Never thought of it before but if I could get hold of a childs vaporizer, that might add the humidity that's needed. This winter I plan to put up a hydroponic set and try it along with some herbs.
