I tried but it died. Got smaller each year till this year when it disapeared completely.

Mine is doing fine, appears to be healthy and gets bigger each year. But no, it still hasn't bloomed - not sure what to make of that! Some years I hard prune it and some years I don't - it seems that regardless of what I do, it doesn't bloom.

I planted it in 2004. Like I said, it appears healthy and actually suffers little in the way of tip kill. Next year I'll hard prune again and see if that spurs it on to bloom.

The dwarf variety (forgot the name) I had purchased a few years back has done very well and had very little winter damage last winter even after -41 C ... oh and yes, it had flowered nicely this summer and is still in bloom at this time.

I'm not sure if the plant is still there, but there was a big TALL one growing very close to the old Nature's Garden Center west end Edmonton and also I've seen one doing well at the Devonian Gardens.

I believe mine is Tamarix Summer Glow. Planted it last year and it had some growth, and a few pink spires, but not much. this year it has really struggled and I can't figure out why. It starts to grow with it's green spires and maybe a hint of pink and then seems to die down. It is in full sun until about seven in the evening. I even gave it a bit of fertilizer.Wish someone knew what the problem was. They look so beautiful in the pictures and are supposed to be hardy.
