Jon's Florea fig pixes

Here is the 9 yrs old Florea

Never protected,fertilised,only once pruned shaped by me.

Jon ,likes the fruits,I do not.

My granddoughter likes them too,so he gave her a box today.

Jon is harvesting main crop for 2 weeks now.

I do not have any ripe on my trees.

If i only could like the taste of Florea ????

    My good guess, he is his close-by friend, whose fig I saw and testify for, & got some cuttings. I send an extra
    rooting to Jon, and now it's fruit is coming back to H's
    grand lovely dauther.

    A SMALL WORLD INDEED!

    Cecil and George:That is my frind Jon in Beverly NJ,Just 3 miles west from me.
    It is not Jon from San Diego,the author of Figs4fun Forum.
    I know Jon in San Diego has one Florea fig too.
    I also bet it is very good tasting ,in Ca.,because that tree needs dry climate,i think.
    We will find out,from Jon in San Diego,when the tree will be fruitting there.
    I think his ,is a young fig,still.
    One day I will Place my picture here ,but,not now.

    So:Those fruits are from the,New Jersey fig,that is the point.
    I do not know anybody to have ripe main figs now,so early,while Jon,harvests figs starting on Aug 1st,2009,from his Florea fig,right here in New Jersey.
    What I am looking for is finding another cultivar,the same early like this one,but with better tasting fruits.
    It is impossible that Florea is the only early fig,and there are no others.
    So far I had no luck.
    All the varieties I trialed are late ripening compared to Florea fig.
    If you know another one Please let me know.

    Herman,
    pastiliere, ronde de bordeaux and negretta iv'e read are suppose to be early ripeing figs not sure how true. I have the 3 but are young. Perhaps they are early riper where they came from but in seasons yet to come i will see how they do for me in containers as i sought something earlier to ripe also. Do you grow any of those?
