Strange bulb performance?

I planted a container of Sparaxis bulbs and a container of Freesia bulbs in the spring (about 12 bulbs each). Having not grown these before, I wasn't sure what to expect. Well, 4 freesias sprouted and 3 sparaxis. I was going to throw them out but decided to bring them in the house last week and see what would happen next spring. Guess what? Since I brought them into the house, every bulb in both pots has now sprouted. Now that's what I call timing. : (

Is this just an indication of how cool the summer really was or is this normal for these tiny bulbs? Do they just take this long? Each bulb is probably only about 1/2" across. BTW, I repotted the sparaxis and I have about 18 bulbs now, all nicely divided and spaced.
