Request for acorns

Anybody have a crop of acorns that the squirrels haven't gotten yet? I'm looking for seeds from oaks that are doing well. Red oak, pin oak, bur oak, whatever oak.

Will trade a balsam fir seedling or a western white pine seedling for harvest rights on your acorn tree.

Looking for 100 to 500 acorns. I'll pick. I'll fight the squirrel. You can watch and laugh.

I think the squirrels beat you to it. Around my place no acorns but fat squirrels. HMMM.

There's a really old oak tree a couple doors down from my house and I'll check if there is lots on the ground.

It seems to be doing great and is about 100 feet tall.

I'm not really intrested in tree seedlings but if you have any odd kinds of tomatoes or veggies I'd be more than happy to grab a box for you.

Sherwood, several years back, I had collected acorns from the large bur oaks at what is now the Telus World of Science location in Edmonton.

If you can't find some body to give you what your looking for, I would recomend F.W. Schumacher Co. Their seeds aren't very expensive, and they give excellent service. Their website address is... www.treeshrubseed.com

By the way they sell seed by scientific names, this is what your looking for.

Quercus borealis(rubra): Red Oak
Quercus macrocarpa: Bur Oak
Quercus ellipsoidalis: Northern Pin Oak
