Yay! Hester's back! Wow, your passion flower is beautiful! That plant didn't take long at all to rebound from a cutback. It looks like it never missed a beat. I think yours looks like Passiflora 'Purple Tiger'. Take a look at the photos linked below and see if you think it matches.

Did you get to the Tropiflora sale? Find anything interesting?

Happy gardening!

Here is a link that might be useful: Google Images - Purple Tiger Passion Vine

Hey Carol,
I've been here lurking mostly as the garden hasn't reached photo stage yet!
I talked to my friend up north just now and she said the plant was passiflora triloba. I looked at google images and sure enough, that's it. If I knew how to post the link I would but you can check it out!
Tropiflora sale this Friday and I have high hopes
Hester

Wow!!! Hester, that is one gorgeous flower!!! The vine itself is a beauty with those huge, unusual leaves, but the burgundy flower, with those striped purple and white 'tendrils' is a work of art. One amazing plant.

Hope you find lots of goodies today at Tropiflora.

Anna

Hi Anna,
thanks for the comment - as you know, I just like that vine for the leaves, but having flowers is a great bonus. The fragrance is so hard to describe - like a combination of ginger and vanilla - another bloom this morning, although quite a few buds have died before opening. I'm not sure waht the problem is.
Tropiflora sale was not as good as past years, but I got a few things which I'll post on tomorrow.
(I think Marcia is there with you as I write this!)
