Looks like a medium-sized Celeste varietal, but the wetness of the fruit and leaves and the removal of the stems throws accurate identification off a bit. Looks tasty though!

Size and leaves are consistent with Celeste. Did you have any fruit drop early on in age? Celeste tends to drop fruit when young. Celeste does well, not great, in NE.

No real problems with fruit drop. The tree is un-ground for three winters and doing well. Some minor tip damage from frost. Breba crop always drops.

Sorry about the shiny photos. We've been getting days of rain. Fruits are sweet but a bit water logged.

Are you sure that what it drops is Breba and not main crop.
This is a Celeste,I have no doubt.
In my experience this fig makes a couple of Breba that drop out,and then continue to drop the first fruits of the main crop,till a point like 1st of July.
Then the remaining main crop get ripe just fine.
This is my experience with about 6 different trees from six different sources.
Of course If yours doesn't drop main crop at all that will be very important,but I wouldn't commit to grow it again only if I am sure of it.

Herman, I'm not sure whether it's breba or main crop...I just assumed it was breba, since it's coming out early. But, 'm not that knowledgeable about about this in general.

I think what Herman means is that if your tree does not drop the main crop, then it is a definate keeper but don't commit to growing it necessarily if not sure about the main crop drop.
