You probably won't find the last two in a nursery. Your best bet is a forum member or eBay. I have seen Black mission at HD/ Lowes.

I'm in Pittsburgh (Beechview) and I haven't seen much offerred locally. In fact the only time I see anything is on Craigslist, usually one or two ads in the spring from local gardeners.

If you are interested in cuttings I will be pruning around Thanksgiving. I have a Lattarula purchased from a nursery on the west coast and my mother-in-law has a fantastic variety I do not know the name of. It was brought over from Calabria by her father (if I have the story right) in the 1930s. Pale golden skin, a honey sweet ivory flesh, and a small eye. It is prolific and weathers our winters well as long as you wrap or bury it. The only drawback to it is it seems to be very hard to root cuttings.

Yes that sounds great, I'd like to get some cuttings. Please email me at tonymartin1@zoominternet.net When it comes to buying fig trees here I've only seen Hardy Chicago at Lowe's so far and most nurseries that I've checked don't carry Fig trees.

If that works it is a photo of the Calabrian mystery fig. I don't know much about figs other than I love eating them, so for all I know this is a common variety. From the descriptions I have read it sort of sounds like "Italian Honey" actually. I do know it is delicious!

Tony, I'll send you an email today. I did take a couple of cuttings last night to try the plastic baggie method, but since the tree hasn't gone dormant yet I'm doubtful they will take.

Luke, right now that and the Lattarula are the only figs I have so I'm happy to trade for cuttings from another variety. Otherwise I'm happy to send them out for whatever the postage ends up running. Send me an email to tobul at pitt dot edu and we can work out the details.
