I've been researching some of the seeds i have. There are a few that need cold treatment, and those are the ones that i'll winter sow first of all. But i've noticed that some say that seeds need to be "sandpapered." One of these is malva sylvestris. Last year, i winter sowed both that and Malva fastigata. The fastigata was sown in March and did quite well. The sylvestris was sown in April, only one germinated and never did anything. In my garden, it reseeds like crazy. Should it be sown earlier, maybe?
