Most probably NOT FMV! Could be lack/excess of water or
similar. FMV is mostly visible on NEW leaves on STRESSED
plants (e.g., new rootings) and usually do not show on
(otherwise healthy) mature leaves...

I saw it first time. Not FMV.
I see your figs are inground.
Apart from the watering issue (I see less than lush
(under-watered) grass (also not rust).
Maybe any excessive heat wave that you may have recently
experienced locally, was a significant contibtion...

yes, its been dry here in dallas for a month. we dont have sprinklers at the office,i hadnt watered for 2 weeks, & the last rainfall a week ago wasnt much. other trees are starting to drop some leaves also. temps havent dropped below 60 yet

the brown turkey last month was strange though. its sprinklered, in with the grass at my house. same symptoms.

maybe a fig rust? texas a&m says its common here

& they were doing great!

I'm no fig expert but,

I have learned that if my fig trees have yellow leafs on the bottom means to much water, if the leafs are turning yellow on top, not enough water!
That's my two cents worth!

Yes and no.

Typically, when a plant is over watered, the lower leaves will turn yellow. However, this is not the only cause of yellowing in the older (lower) leaves. Potassium deficiency is an example of this. If adjusting the water schedule doesn't fix the problem, have your soil tested. Throwing more fertilizer at it may not help as an excess of one nutrient may impede the trees ability to absorb another.

There are many times when one symptom could be caused by multiple issues.

Thnx...I ask cuz one of my potted figs have a very light green tone for as long as I can remember. Been wondering what its problem was and thought it was water related.

I'd guess that it's just a seasonal thing. Although I'm not at home to observe my trees right now, here in MS I've noticed a lot of local figs are beginning to drop leaves and look scraggly. Mine had started to drop a few ten days or so ago when I was there.
