Finally...FIGS!

I want to thank all of you. Your great advice has helped me to reap my first fig crop! These are large white figs with a tight eye and strawberry centers...very sweet. No idea what variety.

We got about 2 dozen...maybe more. The best part...the critters haven't figured it out...yet!

In July I pulled up some shoots with roots and potted these. They're doing very well.

The past few years I've covered the in ground tree with leaves (in a cage) and put a large plastic bag over it but still had die-back.

Any ideas on what else I can use to protect it? What about the potted trees? Should I wait until all leaves fall off? We've been getting light frosts and I'm not sure if I should bring the pots in.

As always, thanks for your advice.
