I have a few Buxus shrubs about five feet tall, and two Aucuba japonicas that I want to remove. They were here when I bought the place, so must be at least ten years old.

If I cut off all the tops, then dig up the roots, cutting them off about a foot below the soil surface, will that be enough to insure that that don't resprout and start growing again?

Any thoughts would be very appreciated.
