Ciao, you can just wait until they loose all their leaves and go dormant, then bring into a garage or a cold basement. of course you could bring them in under grow lamps provided they are bright enough and grow indoors, but they may loose their vigor. If you want to keep them asleep for the winter, you should probably keep them just under 40 degrees F, but not below 25. This is what i do and it works well for my varieties. I only allow newly rooted cuttings inside under the grow lamps for the winter,kept warm and they grow a couple of feet before the spring, then outside then I allow them to go to sleep that fall/Winter. Hello Maggie, thanks for the info. Im growing cuttings as well from an Italian friends tree. What type of grow lights are you using. Also im looking for other types of fig cuttings, do you have any ideas where can i get some.
