Can I get fruits in containers?

I have 4 diferrent varieties in 5-gallon containers. Yesterday when I was moving the pots around, I noticed that they all have roots growing out the drainage holes and into the ground. If they can produce fruits in the current condition, I might leave them all in their pots, at least for a couple years. Thanks,

Yes they can, but it looks like they have outgrown their containers. You will need to repot them or even better plant them in the ground.
Try a 10 gallon container.

Here is a link to a guy who very successfully grows all of his figs in 25-gallon pots and brings them inside each winter. You might get some ideas from looking at the photos and description of the way he does it.

Why Bother with pots in Central Ca?.
Not only that but it is easy to miss to water one time and plant drops all figs in that dry hot climate.

Running out of room to put them in ground. But I think if I try hard enough, I can find some spots for them
