How did the pruning task turn out for you?

Oh, gosh, I love the twisting curving branches and often deliberately defoliate somewhat to let more light inside the canopy and so the tree has a nicer form. The trunk of mine (also may be 40 years old...I wasn't keeping good records then) is about the size of a half-dollar and has several sturdy branches and I wouldn't prune mine back...mine is a relatively slow grower and I cherish the aged psuedo-bonsai look.

But if you insist on pruning...smile...I'd wait until spring. josh
