The general rule is, drainage holes provide for excess water draining off to prevent the roots from rotting. Unless you intend to use that container as decoration, plant the plant in another less desirable container with drainage holes and set it inside a nicer one that does not have holes.

Put at least 3 to 5 large holes in the bottom.
