Side by side but not behaving the same

Can anyone make any suggestions: in one semi shady spot I have daylily "Jambalaya" with 12 blooms stalks (which means probably about 50 blooms) soon to open. Right next to it, I have the beautiful pink "Barbara Mitchell" which barely put up 3 small bloom stalks. Both plants more or less same age. Question: do different daylilies like different growing conditions? Would Barbara like more sun, maybe, or more... whatever? Thanks for your help!

It may just be that she takes more time to get to goo blooming size or she may just not be a bloomer. She is not a bloomer for me, and I've had her three years. I get one to two blooms at the time.

I've had Barbara Mitchell for a long time, but I just started using a spread sheet for budcount and bloom length last year so I really can't remember if it's one of those that took a while to establish. In my garden it had a budcount of 16 and bloomed for 5 1/2 weeks last year. I'd give it more time, but more sun probably wouldn't hurt either.
