Hoop Houses failed

divadeva

Well I was very happy with my hoop houses, an experiment for me this year. Then we had 3' of heavy snow in one weekend, and they collapsed. I dug them out and harvested carrots and turnips. The cabbage and broccoli were fine and so were corn salad and miner's lettuce. I had the most damage in the houses covered with agribon, almost no damage in the hoops covered by dio-betalon. Lesson learned: next year metal hoops 1' apart and spend the money for the better cover material.
