High winds and fig trees

I'm waiting for my fig tree to lose all of it's leaves before I put it away for overwintering, but it's being hit with very strong winds (my backyard is like a wind tunnel). Will this wind damage the fig if the temperature remains above freezing? The tree (it's a BT) has lost about half of it's leaves so far. Should I just put it into storage now?

If you are expecting the wind to only last a short while, you might want to move it in while it is windy. After the wind dies down, move it back to finish going dormant. The wind can dessicate the limbs of your tree. This is especially true if it is already cold and dry.
